Letter for your Senator on Geithner
Timothy Geithner is a tax evader who’s tapped to run the IRS. Write your Senator about the need to reintroduce accountability into our government.
Our government… teaches the whole people by its example. If the government becomes the lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. ~Louis Brandeis
The same would apply to this situation. If the incoming head of the Department that includes the IRS isn’t required to pay his taxes, what example does that set for the rest of the country? Further, Geithner was President of the NY Federal Reserve during a period which many people have accused the government from allowing banks and other companies to much leeway. So now we’re going to put a key person responsible for poor Wall Street and Banking oversight in charge of the Treasury Department?
How does that seem like good common sense? At best, Geithner is a bright financial mind with poor attention to detail, who failed to notice serious problems developing at our financial institutions. At worst, he’s a greedy executive, helping his CEO friends get away with scams that are bailed out by taxpayer money.
